It's All In The Collar

Yesteryears style icon Clark Gable sported winged tip collar shirts in his portrayal of the suave charismatic Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind. If looking dapper were a crime, he would be fined.
This statement formal shirt with either an attached or a detached winged tip collar elevates the mundane classic suit to something timeless and superlative.

What is a winged tip collar?
The winged tip collar is the evolution of the stiff upright Victorian collar into a more comfortable formal shirt collar.
The collar tips are starched to protrude horizontally and are folded down to resemble wings. They are found on formal Tuxedo shirts and are worn for formal occasions.

The detachable wing collar along with a white cravat and starched white shirts were worn with tailcoats originally and have now evolved to be the accompaniments of the modern day formal tuxedo.

When is it worn?
It is worn with a formal tux or a three-piece suit for Black Tie events, Charity Galas and Balls or a formal engagement party. A bow tie or a cravat can be worn to outline the collar and make it a style statement.

How to wear it with a bow tie?
The collar should hang above the bow tie, as this is the more traditional form of wearing a winged tip collar. This way your accessories can do the talking.

The 21st century ‘au courant’ man needs to look his part. Whether it’s purely business or keeping face with the fairer sex, it’s a constant endeavor nonetheless.
And nothing does the trick like a well-crafted bespoke suit. But what is truly a bespoke suit?
Is made-to-measure the same as bespoke? Any idea about the components involved? Can it actually be done online? Do you require a fat wallet to afford one? Or is it just plain snobbery?
But what if a suit doesn’t fit the bill? What about a classic Bandhgala for your next black tie? Or a linen blazer for your next brunch? Any idea what shirt stays are?
Questions, questions. Well, that’s where we come into the picture. Onesoul Life gave us the opportunity to reach out to the men of India & their numerous sartorial conundrums. And we take this task seriously.
We’ll be divulging into techniques, details, fabrics, styles, accessories, etc. – so that no question remains unanswered.  So fret not, your customized solutions are all here.
