Mumbai’s SS Homme is a bespoke label whose creations can only be procured by order. It doesn’t get any more exclusive than this. SS Homme  seems to have come like a breath of fresh air to stylish men who could afford the best fabrics and styles but yet couldn’t get the style right. By customizing the client’s entire  experience, right down to the colour of one’s tie or pocket square, SS Homme shows its well-heeled clientele that their bespoke service is as serious as it gets. Founder, 23-year old Sarah Sheikh firmly believes that from the colours and fabrics of a classic suit to a variety of pastel shirts, it’s all about being personalized to suit your body type. “The men I knew were having a tough time meeting their sartorial needs from even the best labels around. If the fit was right, the fabric wasn’t, if the fabric was, the colour wasn’t, or the prices were simply unaffordable. Here was a gaping need begging to be fulfilled,” she says.

Sheikh started out with an internship at GQ and was styling television commercials for brands like Dove and Lakme when she decided to start the brand. Her focus is on clothes made to suit her client’s body type. Minute aspects like button details, varieties of stitch lining as well as exquisite inner linings are subtle bt spell ultimate luxury. It takes up to ten working days to tailor a suit and five working days for a customized shirt, trousers, tie or bow-tie. It therefore is no surprise that her relatively new (2011) label finds itself in the wardrobes of Mumbai’s biggest corporates, business people and expatriates.
